A strobe light or stroboscopic lamp, commonly called a strobe, is a device used to produce regular flashes of light. A modeling light is a continuous light source - usually a tungsten bulb, a quartz-halogen bulb, or an LED - located in proximity to a flash tube. The purpose of a modeling light is to allow a photographer to visually a sense of the lighting effect the flash, when it fires, will create. A soft box is nothing more than a light modifier. A soft box diffuses the light into a pleasing soft, even light. When used properly, it reduces harsh shadows. A reflector is any platform that reflects light. It can be used to bounce, diffuse, or flag natural and artificial light. A gray card is a middle gray reference, typically used together with a reflective light meter, as a way to produce consistent image exposure and/or color in film and photography. A radio trigger system is a wireless transmitter that tells the strobe to flash. It can be used when shooting portraits in dark rooms.

Mrs.Moncure, Period 1 Photography1 Rancho Buena Vista High School Bright Future I titled this photo Bright Future because it’s a portrait of my best friend Tyler looking out into the city thinking about his future as the bright sunlight hits his face. This picture was taken at Double Peak Mountain peak. This photo outlooks the city of San Marcos, Vista, and Tri-City. I took this picture with a Cannon T6. The compositional rule is framing because Tyler is the main focus. I download the picture to iPhoto then transferred it photoshop to crop it. My image is specifically portrait because it’s a portrait of Tyler. It was printed on Epson Glossy Photo Paper on the Epson P800 digital printer. |
